Project Details
The key requirement of any flooring within an educational establishment is durability and high performance. With high traffic areas, the movement of tables and chairs and inevitable spillages, flooring needs to be hardwearing and easy to maintain. Oxden Floors undertook the flooring refurbishment of existing classrooms within a Victorian/Edwardian building on an existing school site, as well as toilets and kitchenette area.
The existing floors were overlaid using the slip resistant Altro XpressLay range. With installation using a tape system, this range provided a fast track solution and negated the need to remove and dispose of the existing finishes. It can be easily removed post-installation, reused elsewhere and then recycled at the end of its life.
Heckmondwike Broadrib tiles were used in the main hall area. These highly durable tiles are a great choice for schools as they can stand up to the rigorous use of high footfall environments, with anti-static, anti-fray and fire-resistant properties.
